KATHLEEN ACKERMAN

Professional Genealogist

My interest in family history work began about 17 years ago when I lived in Maryland. I realized that one branch of my family had lived in New Jersey prior to 1800 and wanted to learn more about them. With four small children, I found very little time to pursue my newfound interest. I have since started my own genealogy business and received my Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of General Studies: Family History degree in April of 2012. I am currently working on a Master’s Degree in genealogy from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. My specialty is English research.

My volunteer activities include Director of the Cave Creek Family History Center and Treasurer for the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History. I am also the British Institute Director for the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History. Besides my volunteer work, I love to travel, play with my granddaughter, help others with their family history and, of course, research my family.
