KATHLEEN ACKERMAN, MSc

Professional Genealogist

Ackerman {Family} 2 sm.jpeg

My interest in family history work began about 2002 when I lived in Maryland. I realized that one branch of my family had lived in New Jersey prior to 1800 and wanted to learn more about them. With four small children, I found very little time to pursue my newfound interest. I have since started my own genealogy business and received my Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of General Studies: Family History degree in April of 2012. In September 2022, I was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Genealogical, Heraldic and Paleographic Studies (with distinction) from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. My specialty is English and Scottish research.

My volunteer activities include being a Board Member for the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History. Besides my volunteer work, I love to travel, play with my granddaughters, help others with their family history and, of course, research my family.
